Time For a Reality Check

This year someone lost a mother or father, a grandparent, a close friend, or sadly even a child. This year someone has gotten a diagnosis that has turned their world upside down. They are now wondering how much longer do they have left and how did this happen to them. Someone lost their job and subsequently lost everything they had. Someone went to church, paid their tithes, sang in the choir, preached their sermon, stood at the door, and serve in many other ways but still God allowed them to experience pain this year.
Notice what I did not say... I never said they did anything wrong to deserve the things that happened. Life happens to us all. As the Bible declares, the rain falls on the unjust as well as the just. In this season, be grateful for what you have and more importantly who you have in your life. They may have issues but they are in your life. Truth be told, you and I are no better. Pray and cover yourself in the blood of Jesus today. Do not wait until after you get a diagnosis or wait until something happens that causes you to suffer.
Understand that while you are reading this, someone is at a loved one's side in tears as they say their final goodbyes. Someone is contemplating suicide because they feel like nothing will ever change for the better for them. Someone is smiling and thriving on Facebook but in the privacy of their quiet place at home, they are broken into a million pieces.
Pray one for another as the Lord commanded. If you are like me, I am here today because I made it off the prayers of those that loved me enough to pray for me when I didn't have enough common sense to pray for myself. Love each other today. Don't wait until tomorrow's funeral. If you appreciate someone, tell them now. You just may encourage them to keep going.
God has been good regardless what has happened in this life. Be grateful. Your current state could always be worse. You may go through like Job, but you'll also be rewarded and restored like him.
God bless, protect, and provide for you all. Amen.
