Testimony Time - Intercessory Prayer
Take two minutes to see God's goodness. I especially pray that this encourages the heads of households.
Yesterday morning God spoke & said pray the blood over your family. I heard & I obeyed. I did not procrastinate or say "I'll do it later".
Fast forward to Yesterday evening. My daughter goes to a sleepover in an area where it's normal to have shots fired, I didn't like it but I knew God heard my prayer. Nothing happened & she is doing fine. My other daughter had to cheer in Perry at a football game. My wife drove there and back without incident. Later that night my wife went to pickup our daughter from the school after they returned from the game. My wife picked her up & started to head home. And then it happened....
The tire blew out and came completely off the rim. Thankfully my wife & daughter were ok. We changed the tire and got them home safely.
Fast forward to today - I take the rim and torn tire to get a new one. A mechanic happens to be getting his tires changed as well. He asked me, how fast were you going when that happened? I replied, it was my wife and I believe she was driving rather slow because she had just left the school when it happened. He says, thank God that she was not on an interstate doing 60-70 because I can tell you just from looking that she would've smashed into the wall. I said, thank God that she was not on the interstate & then God opened my eyes...
She had been on the interstate driving to Perry & back just before this happened. Then he reminded me of his instructions to pray that morning. When they took the other tire off, the tire guy says, this one was about to blow out. You could see it already tearing off the rim.
The point is this: As the head of the house, we can prevent a lot of pain, frustration, tragedy, & stop evil attacks by having a relationship with God, hearing God, & obeying him. Yes, you will be misunderstood. Yes, you will feel alone as you stand for right. You may even feel unappreciated & disrespected. But your assignment does not change. We are required to do what is right & stand in the gap for our families. As my good friend Pastor Edward Mcgee would say, we must engage in warfare! Prayer works & I thank God for covering my family.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper!!
