Stand still, God has it under control

As we journey to the conclusion of another year, I want all of us to take a moment and reflect on how good God has been. True enough, this year has been a challenge and for some it has been a complete nightmare. Nevertheless, God has proven again that he is not only able, but willing to take care of his children.

As Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, they became worried and fearful. Being enslaved was all that they had known. They had become so accustomed to hardship, pain, and brokenness that the uncertainty of a journey to freedom and abundance terrified them. There were times that they wished to return to slavery all because it was familiar. In this year, death, sickness, financial hardship, relationship strain, and religious constraint have become commonplace. The lies, and uncertainty that resonates from our nation's leaders has become the topic of discussion rather than the grace and mercy of our beloved Savior.

But we must recall what Moses told the children. He told them to fear not and stand still and see the salvation of the Lord today, for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. (Exodus 14:13)

So I want to encourage you all to stand still in your faith and trust God that he is not only going to get us to another year, but he will repay us for all that we had to endure in this year. There are great things on the horizon for those that have kept the faith. Someone is going to be healed in their body. Someone is finally going to have a child. Someone is finally going to find their spouse. Somebody is coming out of debt next year. Somebody's hard headed child is going to go to college and so much more.

Just be sure to do this one thing. When you are asked, how did you make it through? don't tell them it was my inspirational words. Dont tell them it was your prayers, don't even give credit to those that God used to bless you. Give all of the glory and honor to God and God alone and he will enlarge your territory in due season.

Stand still, with the whole armor of God and trust him to direct your paths to the promised land that is prepared for you. Amen
