Am I Truly Saved?

Romans 6:1-2 says “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Time and time again, many Pastors, Preachers, Evangelists, Prophets and Teachers, give a false sense of security to themselves and the people that listen to them. This creates an issue with would-be believers as they see no difference from themselves to those that supposedly have been saved.
We often acknowledge that all have sin and come short of the glory of God. While this statement is true, it does permit anyone to continue living in sin. Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments. Ask yourself, is it enough to verbally confess Christ and be saved? The demons believe and acknowledge who he is. The demons also know the scriptures. So what is it that makes us truly saved?
With confession, we should also believe in our hearts that he is the all-sufficient savior. Now, if any man believes something, it is evident through his actions. The Bible says it this way, “And you shall know them, by their fruits”. Simply put, I’ll know you love me by how you treat me.
Now this may cause you to feel a bit uneasy, and it should. We all should constantly reevaluate ourselves to ensure we are living by God’s standards. But here is the good part: 1 John 2:1. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”
What does it all mean? Our hearts should not be purposed to sin but to live righteously. If someone slaps you and you beat them rather than turning the other cheek, God is willing to forgive you for it because he knows that you never purposed it in your heart to harm anyone. But when you are that person that wishes or plots evil on others and rejoices when people go through pain, you really should check your relationship with God. How can you love God whom who have not seen but hate your sister or brother that you see daily?
I want to sum all of this up with one verse: 1 John 3:14 “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
Live, Laugh, and most of all Love one another
